Our Farm & Green Practices
We make bussines with respect on the Enviroment. We consider enviromental practices as a major factor of our hotel's operation. Every year we are trying to improve the level of our eco-green policy. Please take few seconds to read our Green Practices.
THE FARM
As part of Zante Plaza™ Hotels, our Property shares high quality Meal Standards. For us there is always a balance between Man & Nature and that reflects on our Green Policies too. We take advantage of our fully owned 4,000sq.m farm in which we grow & develop chemicals free Vegetables. The Majority of products that we are using in our Hotels Salad Bars come from our own farm. We also grow our own chickens, lamps, cheeps, pigs & cows as well as our own Olive Trees.
The Farm is located at Laganas | Agrilia area about 5m drive away from the Property. Our Olive Trees Farm is located at Pantokratoras Village about 6km away.
FACTS ON OUR QUALITY MEAL STANDARDS
- • 75% of the Vegetables on our salad bars come from our Farm.
- • 20% of the Cheese we have on our buffets comes from our farm & cows.
- • 100% of the Olive Oil is produced from our own Chemicals Free Olive Trees.
- • 100% of the Wine on the All Inclusive Package comes from Local Traditional Producers ( Solomos Wines, Koutsis Wines & Agricultural Union of Zakynthos.
- • All of the meat and ingredients our Chefs use on our Buffets, come from the Best & Certified Companies in Zante | Greece.
That’s why all of the Staff, including the Management and the Ownership of Zante Plaza Hotels eat from our Hotels Buffets…like our guests!
BASIC FACTS ON OUR GREEN POICY STANDARDS
- • We regulary recycle the following matterials: paper, metal, glass & battaries.
- • 75% of the Energy we use for heating the water, comes from state of the art Solar Panels.
- • The majority of the flowers and trees in our gardens are in accordance with the Local & National Tradition.
- • Where we can we have replaced the grass with gravel, so we make savings on the water.
- • We are using a smart automatic system to mininize the quantity of water we are using for our gardens.
- • The majority of the Air -Conditioning in the rooms are rated from EU as A Class.
- • At least 50% of our grocceries are coming from our own farm . We do not use any chemicals in the growing process.
- • 95% of the lamps we are using in the rooms and public spaces are Technology "Led".
- • The Management Team participates every year in Seminars in order to keep in touch with the most up to date green practices.Then the rest of the staff gets informed about the latest green policies.
